When mama is under the weather…she whips out some natural remedies. Like a steam cup!
Because everyone knows mom’s don’t get sick days! Thank goodness for some essential oils to lean on to help me keep on keepin’ on.
If you’re under the weather, have pressure and congestion in your sinuses, and need some help clearing your nasal passages…well, you need to give this amazing natural remedy a try. A steam cup is exactly what you need!
To make and use a steam cup all you need is, a cup or a mug, steaming hot water, a towel, and essential oils
There are different oils you could use for your steam cup, but my favorites are Oregano, Peppermint, Lemon, and Melaleuca (aka: tea tree).
This combo is the perfect blend of immune system boosting, germ fighting powerhouse and refreshing and opening to the respiratory system. Just what you need when you’ve got a bunch of gunk bogging you down.
Watch me demonstrate how to make and use a steam cup:
Pretty simple right?
Take your empty cup, put 1 drop of each oil in the bottom. Them pour in the steaming water, cover your eyes with a towel, and inhale deeply!
Now be warned, this is POWERFUL. If it becomes uncomfortable, move your head away from the steam and take a breath of fresh air before breathing more. You don’t need to be over the steam for too long, I usually only need 2-3 minutes max to feel a ton better. And I usually only need to use this once or twice per day until I’m feeling 100% again.
