It’s rare that a homesteader gets the opportunity to travel, but it does happen! I recently returned from my very first cruise (thanks Mom!), it was amazing!
In true homesteader fashion, I love being home, but a trip every now and then is refreshing too! And whenever I leave I like to bring a few things to help make the trip go as smoothly as possible. Like my comfy yoga pants, my favorite lip balm, cute comfy shoes, lots of bobby pins, and my essential oils. I brought some of my favorite essential oils with me on my trip and I wanted to share what I brought with you! The holidays are coming up after all, and with them holiday travel. I want y’all to be prepared!
My Top Essential Oils for Travel
Immunity Blend : The immunity blend is a blend of Wild Orange, Clove, Cinnamon, Eucalyptus, and Rosemary. All these combine to make a powerful immune supporting blend. While we’re traveling away from home our immune system can be on a bit of a roller coaster, so I never leave home without this extra support.
Peppermint Beadlets : Peppermint is a great oil to help combat nausea, and these little beadlets have a couple of drops of Peppermint oil already inside for easy use. I have always had a predisposition to motion sickness, I just always have these in my purse now!
Lavender : Lavender is a fantastic oil for relaxation and soothing the skin. Now, even though vacations are supposed to be inherently relaxing, sometimes being away from home can be stressful. Plus, you may be dealing with different time zones, or even just a different bed can make it hard to sleep at night. Lavender can definitely help you drift off to sleep easier. And do I even need to mention sun burns? Yep, lavender can help with that too.
Handsanitizer : You’re exposed to a lot of new and different germs while traveling, so I like to use this diy essential oil handsanitizer. I keep this in my purse all the time.
Deodorant : I make my own deodorant, and I made a special batch that I put into a travel size deodorant container. It worked perfectly and it was so much easier to travel with then my regular sized stick.
Toothpaste sample tubes : I don’t have these yet, but I will definitely be getting some before our next trip. I love the immunity blend toothpaste, and they’ve recently come out with sample size tubes to give to friends who want to try it out before buying a whole tube. But I think these would be perfect to tuck into your travel toiletry bag. Don’t you??
Seasonal Relief : When you’re in a different place you’re dealing with different pollen, different dust, different air! So this seasonal blend would be a great one to bring with you on a trip to help decrease symptoms from airborne irritants. These gel caps contain Lavender, Lemon, and Peppermint, which provide a great support for seasonal respiratory irritation.
Grounding Blend : This is a part of my daily routine at home to help me start off the day grounded and with positivity. So that was for sure coming with me.
Ginger Gummies : These I came up with for my kids. The peppermint beadlets are just too strong for my young kids, but I wanted something natural to help them with motion sickness on road trips. So I developed these Lemon Ginger Gummies, which they love! Get the recipe HERE.
*Due to recent changes in the law, I can no longer share the name of the brand of oils I trust most on my blog. Bummer! But I can free share via email. So if you’d like to learn more, click the button below!

I always travel with my EO first aid kit. I also include some lemon EO to add to drinking water (non-bottled) and cinnamon oil for the occasional sore throat.
Awesome list! Thanks for sharing!:)
