Can you believe that tomorrow is November?? I told you the holidays were approaching fast! So today we’re closing out our Homesteader Christmas Gift series! Today’s gift ideas are centered around the homestead itself – the home, the kitchen, the garden. I think you’re gonna love it! Let’s get to it!
Christmas Gifts for the Homestead
Every homestead needs chickens. And I believe every homestead needs a “fresh eggs” sign somewhere. In the kitchen, on the coop, somewhere there needs to be a sign like this. I mean, am I right? Or am I right?
2. From Scratch
First, if you haven’t been to Shaye’s blog, then you’re missing out big time! Second, if you don’t have her cook book, please, put this on your own Christmas list, okay? Just the recipe titles alone will have you salivating – the recipes themselves, you’re just gonna love them! Every homestead kitchen needs this cookbook. The end and amen.
I’ve been told that nothing compares to a good piece of cast iron. It doesn’t have all those nasty non-stick chemicals in it and they last foreeeever. Seriously, everyone I know that has cast iron, loves it. I feel a little bit left out of the cast iron club! So this one is on my personal wishlist 😉 I mean, you’ve gotta have it if you’re gonna do those recipes up there justice!
I really believe that every home can benefit from essential oils. They’d make an awesome Christmas gift! Essential oils will make the home smell amazing and festive for the holiday season, as well as offer all kinds of wonderful therapeutic benefits. You can’t go wrong there! Ok, I’ll admit it, this isn’t super glamorous. But, I will say this, composting is pretty vital to this whole homesteading thing. It’s a sustainable way to dispose of all the compostable material a homestead produces, and it turns it into gardening gold! This one has a feature I really like too, it has a collection tray at the bottom to collect compost tea. So cool!
As awesome as that big composter is, you aren’t gonna go out there with a single kitchen scrap…are ya? No. So you need one of these babies to collect the kitchen scraps of the day, then you can take out the little plastic bucket inside it and go dump it in the big composter at the end of the day. It’s a brilliant system, if I do say so myself. And really, has composting every looked so nice on your counter??
7. Green House
I don’t know a single homesteader or gardener that wouldn’t like to have a green house. What a perfect Christmas gift! Just in time to get a nice jump start on the spring gardening season. This one isn’t too small or too big, it’s a goldilocks green house – its just right. I really don’t think you could go wrong with this one.
Alright guys! Did you enjoy this Homesteader Gift Ideas Series?? I hope you got some good ideas to help your Christmas shopping a little easier this year.
